Goa Gajah Bali is a temple known for its phenomenal and unique design, setting it apart from most other temples on the Island of the Gods. Due to its distinctiveness, UNESCO has designated Goa Gajah as a World Heritage site. It is no wonder that the number of visitors to this remarkable temple continues to rise throughout the year.
The main attraction of Goa Gajah Bali is its rich historical significance, which is still visible today. Within the cave area, visitors can find a bathing statue featuring seven figures of widyodara-widyodari, which symbolize the seven sacred rivers of India. In addition, there is a statue of the deity Ganesha at the western end of the passage. The lush green trees surrounding the site create a cool and peaceful atmosphere, with some trees being centuries old, adding to the temple’s natural beauty.
