Ragunan Zoo (Taman Margasatwa Ragunan) is one of Jakarta’s most beloved and historic wildlife parks, located in the southern part of the city. Established in 1864, it is one of the oldest zoos in Indonesia and spans over 140 hectares, making it the largest zoo in Jakarta. Ragunan Zoo is home to more than 3,600 animals representing over 270 species, both native and exotic, including rare and endangered animals such as the Sumatran tiger, orangutans, Komodo dragons, and Javan rhinos. The zoo is divided into several thematic zones, such as the Primates Center, Bird Park, and Reptile House, offering a diverse range of exhibits and animal encounters.
